Fall Farmhouse Wedding | Dexter, Michigan

Fall really turned up the charm for this wedding at a gorgeous farmhouse venue near Ann Arbor. M & N’s vows were seriously sweet, and it felt like the whole wedding was strictly about celebrating their love and spending time with the people they cared about most. Following the ceremony, guests were hanging out under the pergola, soaking in that crisp fall air, when – wouldn't you know it? – a bunch of friendly goats decided to crash the cocktail hour for some extra photo ops and cuddles! As the sun set, a bonfire got crackling, and everyone gathered around to roast marshmallows, swap stories, and gaze up at the stars. Barn weddings are the best, and typically my favorite venues to photograph at. They're so full of history and charm, and have that cozy vibe, which is perfect for a fall wedding. Plus, they usually have plenty of space indoors in case of rain (because Michigan weather can be a wild card!). For suggestions on some of my favorite venues in the area, check out this blog post.

P.S. You may have noticed that I have left the name of this venue out of the post. It is unfortunately deliberate. As much as I loved working at this farm, they have chosen to go all-inclusive, which means they include a in-house photographer. If you want to have complete creative control over your wedding day, I’d suggest going with a traditional venue where you can bring in the vendors of your choosing.
